Glinda

Community Service Dog

Glinda is Safepath’s full-time Community Service Dog. Glinda was born, raised, and educated at Canine Assistants Service Dog School in Milton, Georgia. Canine Assistants was founded in 1991, and they have placed more than 1500 service dogs. Glinda is a three-year-old Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever mix. She completed her education at Canine Assistant and was matched with her primary handler, Tiffany Webb, LPC in July 2020 at a recipient camp. Tiffany met a group of dogs at camp, and it quickly became clear that Glinda chose her partner. She remained by Tiffany’s side and found her home at SafePath. Glinda works during business hours, just like human staff! She loves her colleagues and you may often find her visiting with them to check in on their wellbeing (as well as getting a few belly rubs.)

Glinda’s bond-based education makes her the perfect fit for a SafePath service dog. Glinda’s loving, loyal, and sensitive personality make her easy to get to know and she makes people feel safe. At work, she meets new families who are in distress and provides support. She participates in trauma-focused therapy sessions and is able to ground clients when she senses increased stress and anxiety by pressing her paws on their lap. When she is pet and snuggled, she serves as a means of keeping the client grounded in the present moment. Her love is boundless and without judgment. She offers her shoulder for hugs when clients are sad. She has changed the caliber of work offered at Safepath and we are forever grateful.

When Glinda is not working you will find her playing with her dog brother in the back yard, curled up and napping on the sofa, or chasing tennis balls wherever they may go!
