Julissa is the Bilingual Forensic Interviewer at SafePath Children’s Advocacy Center, where she conducts forensic interviews in a neutral, developmentally appropriate, and trauma-informed manner. In her role, she supports children and families throughout their time at the center, ensuring each interaction is grounded in compassion, cultural sensitivity, and professionalism. Julissa earned her Bachelor’s degree in Criminology, with a minor in Psychology, from the University of West Georgia. She is currently pursuing her Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Criminology, further strengthening her commitment to serving vulnerable populations. Prior to joining SafePath, Julissa worked as a community and legal advocate for a domestic violence nonprofit organization. In this role, she provided comprehensive, survivor-centered support to individuals and families navigating crisis, safety planning, and legal systems. This experience helped her build a strong foundation in advocacy, crisis response, and survivor empowerment. Outside of her professional work, Julissa enjoys running races, reading, and spending time by the water—activities that help her maintain balance and renewal.
